What to Expect During a Botox or Dysport Treatment at Oceanside Medical

Understanding Botox and Dysport: How They Work

Botox and Dysport are both forms of botulinum toxin, a purified form of the neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. When injected into certain facial muscles near wrinkles on the face, these treatments relax the muscles that cause wrinkles, creating a smoother skin appearance. The treatments can also be used to reduce underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis).

During Treatment: What to Expect

When you arrive for your Botox or Dysport treatment at Oceanside Medical, you can expect a comfortable and professional atmosphere. After discussing the areas of your face that will be treated, our experienced medical staff will cleanse and prep the area before administering small injections of the botulinum toxin. During the procedure, you may experience mild discomfort but this should be minimal.

Our medical team will then discuss with you how to take care of your skin following treatment and what kind of results you can expect. The full effects of the Botox or Dysport treatments will not be seen until a few days after the injections are administered. Aftercare instructions, such as refraining from strenuous activities and avoiding direct exposure to the sun, will be provided.

At Oceanside Medical, we want you to feel confident in your decision to have Botox or Dysport treatments. We are dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable atmosphere for our patients so that they can achieve their desired results.
